Lou is a creative and passionate graphic designer with over 10 years of experience in the print and design industry. She specializes in helping small enterprises and startups bring their products and services to life through strategic, market-focused brand identities. After earning her qualification in Communication Design from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Lou built a diverse portfolio across both print and digital mediums. Her approach to design is not just about making things look beautiful; it’s about creating visuals that speak directly to the market, resonate with audiences, and drive real impact. In 2016, she founded Ark Design Studio, a creative hub committed to supporting small businesses with affordable, high quality design solutions.

After facing a tough closure during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ark Design Studio found a new beginning through the Women’s Livelihood Programme at the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative. It wasn’t just a restart it was a chance to learn, grow, and reconnect with purpose. Through mentorship, entrepreneurial training, and the chance to showcase our work at an inspiring exhibition where we met the incredible
Forest Whitaker and other passionate changemakers; we stepped back into the design world with fresh energy and clear vision. We even got the opportunity to do creative work for the initiative, which was a proud full-circle moment.
